DER HANDEL ZEIGT SICH ZUFRIEDEN.

As an artist who writes I was using the title of an exhibition at Salzamt Linz to create a text piece. I chose the title in relation to the public space where it was supposed to appear on the exhibition posters that were put up throughout the city during Advent. I decided for the sentence DER HANDEL ZEIGT SICH ZUFRIEDEN. (eng.: The Market shows itself satisfied.) - it was placarded in five different versions on the streets. The posters dealt with the question of how to address constructs like trade, market or economy. Although profits and losses are kept or paid by individuals this reality is hid behind the sensitivities of an abstract figure - the market. According to this untouchability the posters appeared in public space without a reference to who was speaking.
